I love this series. This show is great I got hooked from the first episode that watched. The story, the characters and the plot are very well done. The US nuked itself! What can I say I am going to miss this show.

Not like the first two seasons!

Posted : 16 years ago on 20 April 2008 08:01 (A review of Sliders - Third Season)

I recently reviewed the 1st and 2nd season DVDs of this series. This 3rd season is nothing like it. I was very disapointed this season, the stories were weak and the shows sets were weak. Its almost as if they made huge budget cuts to the series. The stories were also very weak, with the exception of maybee 3. If you are a fan of tis series, I guess you still need to watch what happens to the characters. Do not expect too much from this season though.

A pen does what!

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 23 February 2008 03:54 (A review of The Lost Room )

great miniseries that came out on the Sci Fi channel. If you like the X files or Twilight Zone type of shows.

Series is about ordinary objects that have powers. Such as a pen that once you click it, it will electrocute anyone that gets touched by the tip. Another is a comb, with one stroke of the comb to your head it stops time for about 10 seconds giving you the abilty to becom invicible to all other persons. The show revolves around differents "cults" trying to round up all the objects. Pick this dvd if you have a chance.

Aliens!

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 14 February 2008 11:47 (A review of Aliens: Special Edition)

This DVD edition is great! I just watched this again and it holds up very well compared to todays movies. If you do not own this edition you are missing out on a bunch of extra scenes. In this edition you find out that Ripley had a daughter and has died of old age. You also get to see Newts parents and how they discovered the alien ship that was carying the facehuggers. There are other scenes that were not shown in movie theaters or the initial DVD release, you will only find them in this edition.

This edition is great pick it up you wont be dissapointed.

Cool Journeys

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 14 February 2008 03:31 (A review of Sliders - The First and Second Seasons)

I just bought this Dvd set for 20 bucks at Wal Mart, and its great! This show came out in the mid 90s and had a decent following. The show is pretty much about a group of people that are traveling between parallel worlds. The main character Quin tests his new invention in which opens up a wormhole that allows him to "slide" into it and travel to another alternate earth. During the first "slide" they encounter a problem in the earth they are visiting and have to make an early slide back to their earth.(They slid into a world where the entire earth is frozen solid and a HUGE twister is bearing down on them) Due to having to slide early, the sliding gadget malfunctions and sends them back not to their original earth, but a different one. They realize this when they start noticying differences in the world that they just landed. The whole premise of this show is about them trying to slide back to their original earth. They have no control over which world they "slide" or how long they spend in the new world, sometimes it could only be hours other times it could be weeks.

The whole idea is pretty cool because they visit worlds that are completley different to ours. Some examples: They visit a world where the dominant sex are the females. In this world males take a back seat and females are the corporate moguls, the politicians and the law. Males are considered the weaker sex and only have positions in the workforce as secretaries and nannies. On an interesting note there is a scene in which the characters are about to watch the President of the United states give a speech, when the president is shown its no other than Hillary Clinton! Remember this show came out in the mid 90s! Could they have fortold the future? lol :)Anyways this show is great, and very intresting. the coolest thing is getting to see alternate earths in which Elvis is alive, Men are endangered species and the Soviet Union controls the US. The 1st and 2nd seasons are included in this DVD set. In future seasons Quinn "the main character" discovers that they are not the only "Sliders" out there, which makes the show more intrestng.

Last man!

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 8 February 2008 07:49 (A review of I Am Legend)

For those of you that are movie buffs and enjoy horror movies, check out Will Smiths new movie "I Am Legend" Its about him being the last man on earth. This movie is based on Richard Mathesons book that came out in 1954. Two movies followed after the release of the book. The Last Man on Earth starring Vincent Price which actually followed the book pretty close but being that it came out in 1964, the effects were not that great. After that The Omega Man starring Charleton Heston came out in 1971, that was pretty good but did not follow the book as much. I have both of these films, and enjoy both very much. As far as Will Smiths new remake I enjoyed it but still like the Omega Man better as well as the book. The only thing I didnt like about Smiths new movie were digital infected humans I tought that was pretty weak. I did enjoy the empty look that they gave New York after the infection had wiped out everyone. Over all I reccomend you watch all three films and read the book and decide for yourself.

Old School Horror

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 5 February 2008 04:19 (A review of Hatchet)

I just saw this movie this past week and its was pretty good. This movie was supposed to be released in theatres, I remember seeing trailers and previews for it at the movies but I guess it never made it. I dedided to buy it when I saw it, and I was not dissapointed. This movie was billed as "Old School" Horror, and let me tell you that is exactly what it is. The plot is basic just as all the Friday the 13th and all the other Nightmare on Elm Street movies, the thing that set this movie apart is pretty simple, the effects and the way the killer disposes of his victims is pretty cool and creative. This movie has no CG in it! So if you are a fan of old school horror and gore this movie might intrest you. Its pretty clear in the first 10 minutes of the film that its not a big budget movie but give it time and you might just enjoy the film!
